Introducing the Lost & Stolen Register: Report Any Caravan or Kit

Something has gone from the pitch or the storage yard — the whole caravan, the motor mover, the awning, or a gas bottle off the A-frame. Until now, if it was never registered and you don't have the CRiS or chassis number to hand, there was nowhere obvious to raise the alarm. Our new Lost & Stolen Register fixes that — anyone can report anything, in under two minutes, with no account.

Why it matters

Caravan and motorhome theft has risen sharply in recent years, and only around one in five stolen vans is recovered. The faster a theft is flagged and shared, the more eyes are looking before it's resold, broken for parts or moved abroad.

What the register is

It's a public, community alert board at thecaravanregister.co.uk/stolen. Every report becomes a shareable alert that caravanners, sites and storage yards can see. It does not matter whether the van was ever registered here, and you don't need a serial number — tell us what you can and we publish the alert.

Report in under two minutes

Head to Report something lost or stolen and fill in what you know: whether it was lost or stolen and what it is; the make, model, layout and colour; distinguishing features and the CRiS or chassis number if you have it; where and when it was last seen; and how people can reach you.

No CRiS number to hand? No problem. Photos, the layout and a rough location are often enough for someone to recognise your van. Add the CRiS or chassis number if you have it, but never let its absence stop you reporting.

What happens next

Your report goes live instantly with a unique reference. Share the link in caravanning groups and forums, and anyone who spots it can see your chosen contact details and reach you directly — no middleman, no delay.

Had a caravan or kit stolen?

Report it now — no account, no serial number, no fuss.
